Sgt. George D. Keathley

George Dennis Keathley was the son of William Finis Keathley and Bertha Mary Leberman. Born on 10 Nov 1907 in Olney, Young County, Texas, USA. Attended Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (later Texas A&M University) for 3 semesters, 1933-35 and summer school in 1936, 1939 and 1940. Joined the U.S. Army. Earned the Medal of Honor for his actions on Monte Altuzzo, Italy on 14 Sep 1944. Killed in action on Monte Altuzzo, Italy on 14 Sep 1944. Posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on 27 Mar 1945. The Medal of Honor was presented to his wife by Major General Bruce Magruder on 11 Apr 1945 at Camp Walters, Texas, USA.
