approached a member of my family after Pete' Medal of Honor Ceremony asking if
she would be interested in the parts of his autobiography pertaining to Pete. It
took more than a month to be copied and sent to me, but here are his papers.
"I
am very proud to have known and to have served in the Army Air Corps with
Lloyd throughout his military career. You might be interested to know first hand
the experiences that we shared.'

group completed its training at Braggs and flew to Lowry Air Base in
Denver...."

was a national draft, but most young men volunteered eagerly for service
in the armed forces...."

Bangor we were briefed on our flight over the Atlantic Ocean to Iceland
with special emphasis o the tricky approach up a fjord and landing
at an airfield in Greenland if we had trouble...."
