Second Lt. Lloyd Herbert "Pete" Hughes (Posthumous Award)
Born July 21 [sic], 1921, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Mrs. J.R. Jordan. Graduated from Refugio High School. Del Mar College student. Played basketball and graduated in May, 1941 (sic.) Transferred to Texas A&M University. Air Force Pilot who received the Congressional Medal of Honor, killed in action on August 1, 1943, in the air raid on the Ploesti oil fields in Romania during World War II.
