Hero Wins Highest Award Posthumously
SAN ANTONIO -(AP)- Lieut. Lloyd H. Hughes, who flew his blazing plane into the heart of the Ploesti oil fields of Romania faithfully to execute his bombing mission was awarded the nation's highest decoration posthumously in a ceremony in the office of Brig. Gen. A. W. Vanaman, commanding general, San Antonio's air service command at Kelly Field yesterday (18 Apr 1944.)
