L. H. HUGHES FIRST AGGIE TO GET AWARD

COLLEGE STATION, March 8 (AP) - As far as can be learned, 2nd Lt. Lloyd H. Hughes of Corpus Christi and San Antonio, is the first Texas A. and M. college ex-student to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Lloyd, who lost his life Aug. 1, 1943, when he flew a bomber in the Ploesti, Rumania oil field raid, attended A. and M. as a freshman for two semesters. The Ward department announced March 4 (1944) that Hughes had been awarded the Medal of Honor.
