Mystery Object: ALAMO IRON WKS - SAN ANTONIO TX

It is a good solid piece of rusty iron. It is 20 1/2" (twenty and one half inches) long plus another 1 1/2" (one and one half inches) for the screw on the right. It is four inches wide at the widest point and at that point it is about 7/16th (seven sixteenths inch) thick. The left hand is tapered to a point, but not too sharp. From that left most point to the vertical part of the little triangle, it is 8" (eight inches) long.

The raised text on the right hand side is "ALAMO IRON WKS" at the top and "SAN ANTONIO TX" at the bottom. This item is owned by Lanford Equipment in Austin, Texas, USA.Does anyone know what this is? Please contact me if you have any suggestions on what this is.

Photographed May 2008.
